NOTES
The discussion with ass. member Prof. Vesselin Beshevliev was recorded by the writer Dimo Kissyov on his personal "Emerald" tape recorder /made in GDR/ in his home, which was in close proximity to the home of Prof. V. Beshevliev. Apart from being neighbors, the two have also had known each other for quite a while as long-time citizens of Sofia.
/Confirmation of the dating of the record in 1960 is provided by the comment of Prof. V. Beshevliev that “the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has published a volume containing his translation (in this case Sources for Bulgarian History, vol. VI-1960), and that these volumes are expensive because they cost 30, 40 and even 50 BGN", that is - we are talking about prices before the monetary devaluation of 1962/.This discussion "ignites" D. Kissyov to write the historical book "Unusual Excursion" /published in 1969/, in which he supports the thesis of Prof. Beshevliev that under the leadership of Khan Tervel, and personally on his instructions after his return from Constantinople in 705, the Madara Horseman monument has been created.
The followng sound recording is published in memory of ass. member Prof. Vesselin Beshevliev, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of his birth and in gratitude to this prominent scientist and great Bulgarian!
